*Not mine but I think it's beautiful and the perfect song for Neil/Christy.*

I found this website that has the illustrations from the Reader's Digest issue of the book. I thought they were beautiful and there might be other fans who hadn't yet seen them.:)

Don't mean to butt in, but  have you heard of something called "ChristyFest"?.  It's held in Townsend, Tennessee each year (the place where the TV series was filmed), in June.  Some of the actors come back - sort of like a reunion.  You can meet with them and there are various workshops - you even get to go to Del Rio, TN - the place the fictional Cutter Gap was based on, to see that area, and hear from descendents.  It's an amazing thing.  This year, Stewart Finlay-McLennan (Neil) is coming back to ChristyFest!  You get a chance to meet him in person, get autographs and get your picture taken with him!!!

The details are at the website www.christyfest.org you can find out how to register, where to stay, etc.  I've been going for the past 5 - 6 years and I really enjoy it.   It's a beautiful area, and there are hotels to stay in, or if you bring your family (or a group of friends) you can rent cabins in the area.

I just found this group today, and I wanted to share this with you.  There is a message board on the site as well and they are currently discussing each episode of the series in great detail.  It's pretty cool - some of the actors (Mike Hickman - Birds-Eye; Lane Batot, Bonnie Prince Charlie), and Tom Blomqist, writer/Producer even chime in sometimes.

Just thought I'd share!

Have a GREAT day!!

I've made a new journal for all my icons, including my Juliet Landau icons, among others.
Over the next week, I'll be slowly transfering all my icons over to the new place.

Feel free to visit and friend my icon community. And, if you like my icons, please share my link with others you think will enjoy them as well. :)

Love you all,

Hey Christy/Neil lovers! I've recently fallen in love all over again with Christy the TV series and the book (sorry, I never saw the movies). I'm looking for some screencaps from the TV series to make a background and icons. Does anyone know of any posted online? I've checked the caps communities that I know of, but haven't found anything yet.

And, if you find yourself bored and want to critique some new fanfiction, I've started my own Christy fan fiction at my journal: [info]merri_fic I'd be delighted with constructive criticism, as I am definitely not a writer and this is my first real fan fiction.

Thanks and Hi!

Mary

For those who live in the US and have cable news, Fox News did a little news snippet of an Anvil Shoot in TN to celebrate the 4th of July. The location of the shoot is the exact place where Reverend Scott's "sanctuary" was in Christy!! Every time I see the clip I become all giddy. I'll be searching for a clip of it on youtube, meanwhile here is the place where they shot it from. You can see close up shots of the location, but nothing panoramic so I cannot show you definitively that it is the same place. Just another Christy location I have to visit. (I live in TN and have visited Christy locations often without realizing it!)
